In Highland we are embracing digital technology to enhance learning and teaching. Our Chromebook rollout for every pupil from P6 - S6 is due to start August 2017 and we are working on a strategy to get schools ready for this. Many schools are already up and running and I aim to share as much of their good practice as possible.
For information about our pilot and how schools progressed through their journey you can visit the info section here of check out the pilot blog here.
This is an incredibly exciting time for learning in Highland and I would like to thank Louise Jones and Andy Robb and everyone else involved for getting us to where we are today.
Moving forward, please get in contact with Stephen Stewart or Andy Robb for any advice or information to get started using G Suite for Education.
Please bookmark this website so you can easily access the resources which will continually be updated and for up to date news and developments.
Sharing of good practice!
Please share with me what your school is working on as much as possible so I can highlight this to other colleagues. I am happy to add posts to this blog to raise awareness of the great work that is going on in your department and school. If your school use Twitter you can follow me (Stephen Stewart) @Stephen_THC where I also post updates and share good practice.
Google has rebranded Google Apps for Education (GAFE) to G Suite for Education. You may start to see emails that you receive will come from G Suite for Education instead of Google Apps for Education – but don't worry, it's the same thing.
Message from Google...
"Hello Google Apps for Education Customer,
We created Google Apps for Education to help people everywhere work and innovate together, so that your organisation can move faster and achieve more. Today, we're introducing a new name that better reflects this mission: G Suite for Education.
Over the coming weeks, you'll see our new name appear in familiar places, including the Admin console and Help Centre. G Suite for Education is still the same all-in-one solution that you use every day, with the same powerful tools – Gmail, Docs, Drive and Calendar.
Thanks for being part of the journey that led us to G Suite for Education. We're always improving our technology so that it learns and grows with your team.
If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch at any time.
