Give a brief explanation of your project.
Use of alternative modern technology in the application of Graphic Communication and the world of technology. Students completed a short project using touch screen technology and alternative graphics based app based technology, then completed the same task using a traditional PC and mouse input.
How has the technology enhanced learning and teaching within your school/department?
Students learning has been enhanced by using touch screen technology to operate graphic design based apps and create some graphic work using none standard chromebook graphic packages. They have learnt new hand eye co-ordination skills in using touch screen technology.
Additionally, they have viewed 3D models using touch screen technology to change viewing angles. Students have also produced product comparisons of the functionality of a Chromebook and a traditional laptop, having the real product students were able to produce a far better product comparison report after completing physical functionally tests.
Any tips for other schools looking to do a similar project?
Research available apps prior to organising a project and load up necessary apps prior to launching of projects.
Next steps for the project...
